So, let’s find out what happened in Savage Beauty season 2 and if the ugly truth about the Bhengu family came to light.

Spoiler Alert

What happened to Ndu and Zinhle?

In the first season, we saw that Zinhle believed that she killed Don, but in reality, he was alive. Ndu arrived at his father’s house at the worst possible moment. Don managed to come out of the car trunk, and he took his gun and pointed it at Zinhle.Ndu came in between them, and he wanted Zinhle and Don to stop fighting. Don fired a shot to kill Zinhle, but accidentally, it hit Ndu. The boy died on the spot, and Zinhle escaped from there before Don could do anything to her. When the police officials came, Don told them that it was Zinhle who killed Ndu because he was too scared to tell the truth. At that moment, Don showed the kind of man he was. Even when his conscience was tainted with the blood of his son on his hands, he didn’t speak the truth. He hid the fact from his entire family, though he was stressed because he knew that Zinhle could reveal his dark and dirty secret.

Zinhle took the company laptop, which had the confession of Don, where he implicated himself and his wife Grace for the murder of the children back in the day. Zinhle first went to her friend’s house to retrieve the hard disk, and then she wandered from one place to another as nobody was ready to take her in. The Bhengus had announced that whoever gave them information about Zinhle would get a huge reward. Zinhle decided to leak the confession video, but before doing that, she wanted to visit Ndu’s grave and pay her respects to the boy who loved her with all his heart. Unfortunately, Grace spotted her there, and she attacked Zinhle. Zinhle kept saying that she was innocent and that she didn’t kill Ndu, but Grace didn’t listen to her. Grace killed Zinhle and then asked Noni to dispose of her body. Days later, the law enforcement authorities found Zinhle’s body in her apartment and called it a suicide.

What were Richard and Charlie trying to do?

Richard Moloto and Charlie met Grace and Phila during the funeral ceremony for Ndu. Charlie made advances towards Phila, and very soon, both of them started dating each other. For the first time in his life, Phila felt at peace with someone, and he felt as if he was falling in love with her. Grace also felt nice meeting Richard because the man gave her the kind of validation that she never got from anybody. Richard also met Phila secretly, and he asked him to sell his share of Bhengu beauty to him. Richard suggested Phila start something of his own and let him be his secret investor. Phila thought hard about it, but he just kept delaying the decision because, time and again, he felt as if things at home would come back on track and everything would be fine. But that didn’t happen, as Grace and Don were literally after each other’s lives. Charlie also met Linda, who at that moment was having a hard time finding a job for herself after the allegations against her surfaced in the media and she was thrown out of her company. Charlie offered to team up with her and start a new line of cosmetics. Linda agreed, as it was a lucrative offer, and she liked the kind of person Charlie was.

Complications arose when Charlie became intimate with Linda, and she didn’t tell her that she was also seeing her brother at the same time. But this botched-up relationship dynamics was not the only complication here. Charlie was not in love with either of the siblings, and she was there due to her own vested interests. Charlie’s real name was Charlotte, and she was the daughter of Richard. In the past, Don had killed Richard’s wife, Debbie, and that’s why Charlotte and Richard wanted to destroy the Bhengu Empire and give the perpetrators a taste of their own medicine. But their secret came out in the open when Lorraine, the partner of the minister, told Phila about it. Phila was shocked, and he decided to reconcile with his father, even though he knew that it was not the best thing to do. Charlotte and Richard tried their level best to bring down the Bhengu empire, but they were unsuccessful in doing so till the very end. Richard actually started admiring the kind of woman Grace was. He did fall for her in the process of trying to manipulate her, and Charlotte was livid when she learned about it. Things didn’t look good for the Bhengu family, and they had only themselves to blame for the mess that was created.

Did the Bhengu family reconcile?

Grace tried to prove in front of the board of directors that her husband was not mentally stable to run the company, and even worse, she made multiple attempts to kill her. Every single time Don survived, and at the end of Savage Beauty season 2, when he got to know about the intentions of his wife, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He locked Grace in a room, and he took over the company, telling Mutale, one of the board of directors, that his wife was ill and that she no longer wanted to be Company’s CEO. When Mutale came to check on Grace, Don made sure that he forced his wife to gulp down a bottle of vodka so that she was not in her senses when anybody came. Don took Grace to their first house; he tied her up with the intention of bringing her back in line. Don didn’t want to kill Grace, but he got a phone call at that moment that Thando was carrying his baby, and he left to talk to her immediately. The house where Grace was kept caught fire accidentally, but Richard arrived at the right moment and saved her. Phila came back to Don because Don helped him get out of jail after he crashed his car and got arrested for drinking and driving. Linda came back because she wanted to stay with Thando, and she realized that Charlotte was just using her for her own advantage. Grace also came back after she and Don had a chat, where the latter told her not to waste the hard work and sacrifice they had made to reach there. So, on the face of it, the Bhengu family was once again having dinner together, but the conflicts were too great for them to just act normal, and it was just a matter of time before everything exploded.

Did Grace kill Don Bhengu?

Grace, at the end of Savage Beauty episode 6, decided that she had had enough. She just couldn’t bear the guilt of whatever she and her husband had done. Don had started hallucinating, and he often saw Ndu standing in front of him and appealing to his conscience. Don didn’t accept that he had killed Ndu, and Grace realized that the entire cycle needed to end. Grace knew that Linda and Phila both deserved better parents, and with Don and her around, their lives would keep getting more and more complicated. Grace decided to end this once and for all. She asked Noni to bring her a gun, and she made up her mind to kill Don and then take her own life.

At the end of Savage Beauty season 2, Phila got his hands on the laptop, which had Don’s confession, while Zinhle took in the first season. Phila was livid, and he came to confront his parents about it. Phila had a heated argument with his father, and that’s when Don accepted that he had killed Ndu by mistake. Phila accidentally pushed his father down the stairs, and Don died on the spot. Grace asked Phila to leave the house, and then she shot it down multiple times, making it look like she had killed her husband. Grace actually wanted to repent for her sins, and she knew that by doing that, Phila would get a genuine opportunity to bring his life back on track.

Grace went to prison while Linda and Thando got married. Phila was in a conflicted state of mind, and there came a time when the burden seemed too much, and he felt like ending his life and getting freedom from the mess once and for all. He stood on his terrace and thought about what he should do. He went back to attend the press conference where he was going to tell the world that he was going to head Bhengu Beauty, but he did something that no one expected him to. Phila, in front of the whale world, told the truth about himself and everything that had happened in the past. He told them about the murders that his parents had committed, and he also told them that his father wasn’t killed by Grace, but it was him who accidentally pushed him from the stairs.

Meanwhile, Richard met Grace in prison, and he asked her to let him help her cause and take her out of there. Grace and Richard were having a conversation when they saw in the news what Phila had done.It was the beginning of a new dawn, and if there is a Savage Beauty season 3, we will get to know what happens to Phila, Grace, and Bhengu Beauty. I believe Phila will take Bhengu’s beauty to greater heights, though this time around, he will do it without ruining anybody’s life.
